The Power of Family: Setting Kids Up for Success Through Extended Family Bonds
I’ll be honest. I’m not a fan of winters in Wisconsin. I grew up in Minnesota, and have lived in Wisconsin for 15 years. I have been through 35 winters here. Each year, I find myself questioning more and more, “WHY DO I LIVE HERE?” There is one word that brings me back to reality, and off the internet search for homes in the south… Family (and maybe hurricanes). My family is here, and my wife’s family is here.
In the whirlwind of modern life, amidst the hustle and bustle, it’s easy to lose sight of the fundamental importance of family. Yet, the bond we share with our family holds immeasurable significance, especially in shaping the future of our children. Raising kids around extended family isn’t just about having a support network nearby; it’s a blueprint for success that instills values, builds character, and fosters a sense of belonging that can propel them forward in life.

Extended family provides a rich tapestry of experiences, wisdom, and love that no amount of individual effort can replicate.
